Honest Days

Terms of Service

Last updated 1 August 2026.

Draft pending review. These terms describe how the software actually behaves and are accurate as written. They have not been reviewed by a lawyer and do not yet name a legal entity or a governing jurisdiction — both are marked below and must be filled in before launch.

1. Who we are

Honest Days is provided by [legal entity name and address to be inserted] ("we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Your account

You need an account to use Honest Days. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything done through your account. One account belongs to one person; tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use the service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.

3. Your data is yours

You keep all rights to the data you put into Honest Days. We claim no ownership of it. We store and process it only to provide the service to you — to display it, calculate totals, generate invoices and PDFs, and send an invoice when you ask.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train machine-learning models. See the Privacy Policy.

4. What you may not do

5. Subscriptions and billing

Honest Days is a paid service, offered on a monthly or yearly subscription, with a free trial period for new accounts.

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google under their terms, and are managed and cancelled in those stores — not by us. Subscriptions purchased on the web are billed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you buy.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the period already paid for. Refunds for store purchases are handled by the store under its own policy.

If your subscription lapses, you are not locked out of your own records. You can still read, export, and delete everything, and you can still record payments against invoices already issued. What stops is creating new billable work.

6. Invoices are your responsibility

Honest Days is a tool for producing invoices. It is not an accountant, a bookkeeper, or a tax adviser, and nothing it produces is tax, legal, or financial advice.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you invoice: the rates, the hours, the tax rate you enter, and whether the resulting document meets the requirements of your jurisdiction. Check your invoices before you send them.

7. Sharing an invoice

Marking an invoice public creates a link that anyone holding it can open. The link contains a long random token and is excluded from search engines, but it is not otherwise protected — treat it as you would treat emailing the invoice itself. You can revoke access at any time by setting the invoice back to private.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service running and to avoid data loss, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, or because of a failure at an infrastructure provider we depend on.

Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. Invoices can be exported as PDFs at any time.

9. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from within the app. Deletion is permanent and removes every organization you own and everything beneath it. We cannot recover it afterwards. Export what you need first.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms. Where circumstances allow, we will give notice and an opportunity to export your data first.

10. Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost revenue, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusions above; where that is so, they do not apply to you.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will give notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the change.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be inserted], and disputes will be heard in its courts.
